Updating schedulers after OpenText Analytics Database upgrades

A scheduler is only compatible with the version of OpenText™ Analytics Database that created it.

A scheduler is only compatible with the version of OpenText™ Analytics Database that created it. Between the database versions, the scheduler's configuration schema or the UDx function the scheduler calls may change. After you upgrade the database, you must update your schedulers to account for these changes.

When you upgrade the database to a new major version or service pack, use the vkconfig scheduler tool's --upgrade option to update your scheduler. If you do not update a scheduler, you receive an error message if you try to launch it. For example:

$ nohup vkconfig launch --conf weblog.conf >/dev/null 2>&1 &
com.vertica.solutions.kafka.exception.FatalException: Configured scheduler schema and current
scheduler configuration schema version do not match. Upgrade configuration by running:
vkconfig scheduler --upgrade

    at com.vertica.solutions.kafka.scheduler.StreamCoordinator.run(StreamCoordinator.java:125)
