Communal storage

The shared storage locations containing an Eon Mode database's data. The data within the communal storage is the canonical copy of the data. Vertica does not consider data as being committed until it has been written to communal storage.

Communal data storage locations are based on object stores, such as an S3 bucket in the AWS cloud or a PureStorage FlashBlade appliance.
