Query has no aggregates in SELECT list

If your query has no aggregates in the SELECT list, internally, Vertica treats the query as if it uses GROUP BY instead.

For example, you can rewrite the following query:

SELECT DISTINCT a, b, c FROM table1;

as:

SELECT a, b, c FROM table1 GROUP BY a, b, c;
