APPLY_COUNT (ARRAY_COUNT)

Returns the total number of non-null elements in a collection (array or set). To count all elements including nulls, use APPLY_COUNT_ELEMENTS (ARRAY_LENGTH).

APPLY_COUNT(collection)

ARRAY_COUNT is a synonym of APPLY_COUNT.

Arguments

collection

Target collection

Supported data types

• Arrays of any dimensionality and element type

• Sets of any element type

Null-handling

Null values are not included in the count.

Examples

The array in this example contains six elements, one of which is null:
